Do you provide Event photography and videography services? – I do not provide event photography, videography, guest coverage, or image capture during events, including weddings. Event photography and videography are specialized services different from portraiture. I can provide a portraiture session on the day of the event, at the location.
What is a Session? – A session is when the photographs are taken.
What to expect during the session? – Preparation for the session begins 30-60 minutes before the session. This includes unloading, setting up lights and lighting treatments, backdrops, and props. If a one-hour session is scheduled for 6 pm, I will arrive between 5 pm and 5:30 pm. The one-hour session is an hour of photography from 6 pm to 7 pm. The session can be as formal or informal as the client desires. Some clients want more experimental and exploratory sessions; others want a structured portraiture experience where individuals and groups are posed intentionally in specific arrangements. It is whatever the client desires. For an indoor portraiture session, it may be necessary to move furniture temporarily to make room.
What is a pre-session appointment? – The pre-session appointment is where we discuss what images the client wants to capture, the themes, the locations, the session date and time, and the session pricing. The pre-session appointment is also where artwork options and pricing are presented.
Do you do outdoor sessions? – Yes
Do you have a studio? – No
What about public locations? – Some public locations have regulations. Sometimes a permit is required, sometimes there is a fee, and at some privately owned publicly accessible areas photography is prohibited. During the Pre-session appointment, these details are discussed with the client.
What about weather? – If the client chooses an outdoor session, weather may prevent the session from occurring. During the pre-session appointment, alternative dates and times are identified.
What is an ordering appointment? – The ordering appointment is where the selected images from the session are presented; the client can then choose what image(s) to use and decide on what artwork to invest in.
How long after the Session is the Ordering appointment? – The ordering appointment is typically a week after the session, allowing time for the photographs taken at the session to be sorted for quality and edited down to the best representations of the different images captured at the session.
Do you provide digital image files? – For each piece of artwork purchased, I provide a Png file of the image used in the artwork that is suitable for posting on social media and display on the internet.
Do you use AI? – All of the software used in editing the digital photographic negatives (RAW FILES) has AI integrated into the basic functions of the software, for adjusting exposure, white balance, color correction, retouching, and many other functions. I do not use AI to add or create things in images that are not present in the digital negative. The images presented at the ordering appointment are the unaltered Digital photographic negatives before retouching and print processing.
What printing service do you use? – I use WhiteWall, an internationally renowned printing house and frame shop.
I had a session and invested in artwork previously; how do I get more artwork from that session? – Contact me, and I'll be happy to schedule an ordering appointment to review the artwork you desire and make the order.
Do you make headshots? – Yes, headshots are just like any other session, and during the ordering appointment, artwork for a headshot is selected and purchased, including PNG files for online profiles.
Do you provide school-wide portraiture services? – I do not provide school-wide portraiture services.
Do you work with bands? – Yes, a session for a band is like any other portraiture session.
